    Close a program??

Hi folks. Is there any way (keyboard combo preferred) to actually close an application? THanks.

I assume you mean in new Metro interface.

You can drag the top of the app to the bottom of the screen to close it.

Or you can mouse over to the left, do some gymnastics with the mouse up or down whatever, see the app you want to close, right click on it and click the x. (Something like that. I can't open any Metro apps to check because I have UAC completely disabled.)

That's curious. I have UAC disabled, as a default, but all my Metros are working 100%?? Didn't even know it was a possible problem until I read your post.

Ya, it also might have a little something to do with changing a specific Admin setting in secpol.msc too, along with UAC being disabled. lol I also uninstalled and deleted the UAC file virtualization driver/service.

It doesn't bother me much since it is more valuable to me to have UAC disabled and my account behave as true Admin 100% of the time.

If I ever feel the need to be Metro-ized again lol, I can always make it happen then.

Here's what it tells me currently...

There are two ways to disable UAC, via control panel and via registry/local policy editor. If you've disable UAC via control panel and you've logged in with a Microsoft account, you'll probably find Metro apps still work. if you've disable UAC via registry/secpol Metro apps should fail to open.

"If you've disable UAC via control panel and you've logged in with a Microsoft account" That was my preference, but I did it through Msconfig.. Unless I was trying to totally cripple it, I would not care to alter anything through the registry - not usually needed.
    Thanks for the explanation.
