Sysprepping an upgraded Windows needs a bit registry editing.

Open the Registry Editor (WIN + R, type regedit, hit Enter), browse to key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup.

Delete both the DWORD Upgrade (right pane) and KEY Upgrade (left pane), see screenshot. The system warns you that skies can fall down if you delete these items, just laugh loud and accept the deletion:Still in Registry Editor, browse to key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\Status\SysprepStatus, if either DWORD CleanupState or DWORD GeneralizationState has any other value than 7, change it to 7 by double clicking the DWORD in question and entering the new value:Close the Registry Editor. Open Command Prompt, type slmgr /dli and hit Enter to open Software License Manager. Close it as soon as it opens, close Command Prompt.

You can now sysprep your upgraded Windows.

If and when Windows is upgraded, you'll find those registry entries in Windows registry. In order to be able to upgrade these must be edited.

huh i don't understand mine was a upgrade from the windows store for win 8.1 and my win 8 was a upgrade, but like i said there is nothing in that key but the two keys i listed? i don't no why not its not in there i never go into the reg edit so what do i do now, is my windows not a upgrade? as far as i new it was but does that mean by nothing being in there that it is not one?.

Yeah, I know ... two weeks late.

Driver Fusion is a fine program, it replaces Driver Sweeper (trusted and recommended by at least one member on the BSOD team). Treexy wrote both.

But you're well beyond that and there are plenty of knowledgeable members already helping, just thought I'd answer the question in post# 1.

    I see.

The installer is ad supported if that what you mean. I haven't used this for quite a while, so I won't be able to answer questions without consulting the About page, but you can do that too.

It will probably be faster that way anyway
About | Driver Fusion Manual | Treexy

I only used the tool to clean up after normal uninstall procedures
(Control Panel -> Programs and Features or Device Manager uninstall)

A quick read on the site tells me there are features in the newer version that I do not suggest (monitoring ...)
To reiterate - I only use the cleanup feature to rid a system of a tough driver uninstall.

edit: The Driver Family section. See I told you it's been a while
