Can someone help me remove NETGEAR Genie?

Can someone please help me remove NETGEAR Genie? It says its installed under the Desktop area on my Windows Start Screen, but it doesn't under Programs & Features. Can I use a software removal tool? I tried using System Restore, but it failed. Should I try to run System Restore again?

Please help. Help would be greatly appreciated!

If you double-click on the icon on your desktop, does Netgear Genie come up? It may be that the program itself got uninstalled but the desktop icon was left behind. If you get an error saying the program can't be found then it's safe to simply delete the icon from your desktop.

It is supposed to be uninstalled from "Programs & Features", if it's not listed there but you're able to run the program then you need to get something like Revo uninstaller to uninstall it.

Thank you for your help. I ran Revo and removed it. It was hiding.

To get rid of empty or any short cuts(such as uninstall or site links) on apps screen: in file explorer go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs and delete them. you can also place custom made ones here.
