    Windows Media Player? ? ?

I'm running Win 8.1 64 bit. I can not locate/execute Windows Media Player. When I go to the Start Menu and search for "media player" what I get is a program labeled "Windows Media Player." When I click on this I get a file labeled "Windows Media Player." What I am trying to do is rip and burn Music CDs. I know it was there in the past, but I did something to make it go away. Can somebody give me a link that can be used to download an executable program. Please be advised that technical terms still elude me. One of my sons just explained what rip and burn mean.

    Thank You

Cliff S, I did as you said: apps > windows accessories > windows media player. I did not see "windows accessories, but I did see "windows media player." I clicked on this and found myself in the same situation as I described in the original post. I looked at VLC, but it appeared to be to complex for me. I am still deep in the woods.

    Thanks

Cliff, you took me to the door.
Barney, you showed me how to turn the knob.
You saved me from the wrath of six year old granddaughter!
