Do I need any of these cyberlink programs?

    Do I need any of these cyberlink programs?


    I had 6 cyberlink programs pre-installed on my laptop, do I need any of them? Here's the programs I'm talking about

    These are just freebee multimedia programs installed by HP. If you do not intend to use them, you can safely uninstall them. If you desire the reinstall them latter on, you can by going to this site, you can also see a brief description on what they do:

    Since I have windows media player, power2go, powerdvd is useless correct? Also, why isn't windows media player on the uninstall programs list?

    All the programs listed are part of the Windows Media Suite 10 and they are old, Current version is 12. You can uninstall any of these using the Uninstaller of Media Suite 10, just select what you want to uninstall.

    Media Player is part of Windows Programs & Features and installed by default when you install Windows OS. Click on "Turn on Windows features on or off", check on "Media Features to install", uncheck to uninstall as shown:

    So it was absolutely pointless to manually install windows media player like I did?

    Yeah right, it was pointless. Media Center is another story.

    Btw - I would keep the cyberlink programs. They may come in handy one day and they need only a minute piece of disk space.

    Windows media suite? don't you mean cyberlink media suite? I've never heard of windows media suite.

    A lot computers bought from stores have stuff like this on them. They call them frebies but I see at bloatware or junk.
