Why can't I uninstall media suite 10? I get an error message whenever I try, and when I try to open media suite nothing happens. Also, I can't reinstall powerdvd, when I try it says I have cyberlink media player on my computer and I have to uninstall it first..the heck is cyberlink media player? the only cyberlink programs I have on my computer are media suite 10 ( which doesn't work), and youcam. I don't understand what's going on. I'm thinking about just doing a factory restore so I dont have to deal with this.

this is the error message I get when I try to uninstall media suite 10Click image for larger version

Can you do a restore to a point before you started messing with all this stuff and start over?
The Cyberlink programs won't hurt anything if you leave them on there and some of them can be quite useful.

As said in my previous post. All Cyberlink programs are part of the Cyberlink Media Suite so to uninstall any of those, you must uninstall from the Media Suite uninstaller and select what to uninstall. Since you uninstall them separately. You broke the Cyberlink Media Suite Uninstaller.

Well, in a way, those are considered bloatware that HP got paid to bundle with their customized OS and can slow down your PC due to the background processes/services being run and in some cases can cause BSOD due to incompatible drivers. They are limited old versions.

Oh ok that makes sense. Do you need media suite installed on your computer for all the other cyberlink programs to work properly?

Media Suite itself is not an application. It is only a front end installer for all applications that came with the Suite, so to install any application, you'd run the Media Suite Installer.

Now that it is broken. You can try to download : Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily, Forced Uninstall, Leftovers Uninstaller, Portable Uninstaller 30 trial and use Forced Uninstall to uninstall it. There's also a free version of Revo Uninstaller but I believe it only works with 32 bit PC. After done uninstalling Media Suite, you can uninstall the Revo Uninstaller pro.

Then again, you will lose dvd playback with WMP by uninstalling those suite due to codecs being removed.

Windows Media Player will play DVD playback without any Cyberlink stuff installed. However, it will not play all the Video formats. You can either install Download K-Lite Codec Pack Basic
Or you can install VLC which has all built in codecs for most Video format.

Why didn't WMP play my dvd?

Where do I go to get to the media suite uninstaller? I uninstalled media suite 10 (like you would with any other program) and no boxes popped up asking what I want to uninstall, it just uninstalled media suite 10.
