    Java keeps on not responding?

Hi, I'm playing minecraft on my laptop and one thing I don't know is how to add RAM to java for minecraft. Before this was happening my graphics card was saying it failed and repaired itself, crashing minecraft. But now whenever I'm playing minecraft, I start getting these HUGE lag spikes even though I shouldn't considering I just got my laptop yesterday. I really want to stop this and add more ram to java because this is getting really annoying

I have two Java versions installed according to Control Panel Software. Don't know if correct. JAVA is one the almost necessary POS applications as far as I'm concerned. Should be malware. Sucks having to have it installed.

    Oh, welcome to the forum!

One should have 32 & 64 bit JAVA.

    Test your JAVA here---

    https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

It should look like this when finished---

    You can get both here---

    https://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

    Get the offline JAVA---

I have never heard of adding RAM to JAVA.
Maybe adjust your virtual memory. ?

Hi David! Yea, it is kind of confusing when comes to Java. Personally think it is one of those almost necessary add-ons that is malware. Kind of hate it but have to have it.

I need it for some online business & NOAA map looping & the occasional game.

If it is kept updated the security is ok.
    Just like Windows itself.
Hence all the Windows Updates each month to fix security issues.

Guys, I'm talking about adding more ram to my Minecraft. Since you need Java to run minecraft, I thought being able to add more ram to java would work

Like I said, I have never heard of adding RAM to JAVA or a game.
The only thing to do would be to increase the amount of Virtual Memory.

edit--- If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

An ongoing battle across the board. Guess I hate that some third party add-ons (Java Flash) are almost essential to do things on the internet. Someone is making money because of it of course, even though the app is free. That is why it is so necessary.
