Solved Roguekiller x64 - this app can't run on your pc

Roguekiller has run fine on my Windows 8.1 64bit laptop but today it said there was an update.

So I updated and now I get 'this app can't run on your pc' each time I try to run it.

Any idea why this has suddenly happened?

A guess would be that it installed wrong version of the update. Download RogueKiller - MajorGeeks shows there are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, since it's free have you tried uninstalling the current version, downloading and saving the 64-bit version, rebooting and install the new download.

I downloaded the 64bit version directly from the author's website.

I have reset the installer and still it's the same.

Could there be parts of Roguekiller that has been left behind and causing this problem.

I think Roguekiller is portable though, so there shouldn't be anything that has been left behind.

Even though it shows it has downloaded 100%, could the download not have completed completely for whatever reason.

I normally download anything to 'downloads', so I tried downloading it to 'desktop' to see if that would make a difference - it didn't.

I downloaded it from bleepingcomputer and it worked.
I don't know why it didn't download properly from the author's website?

There's a number of things that can happen with a download such as a hiccup in the Internet, with your ISP, etc., that can corrupt a file.
