Okay. I don't have a USB drive or backup CD drive. Should I not install it?

I believe you have to download the ISO file to a USB drive or DVD drive but seeing you do not have one you may try on a virtual drive.

If you don't have a DVD or USB flash drive and if you want a dual boot setup with Windows 8 and Windows 10.

Take a look at this post: Anyone done a dual boot setup of Windows 8 and 10?

It's just too risky. I know about computers, but not when it comes to this stuff. I hope Windows 10 will be free for 8.1 users. I think it might be since they are offering the Windows Insider Program. What do yall think?

Basically -- NO, you should NOT install it.

The current version will "upgrade" your existing install to Windows 10 TP. Problem is, there is NO WAY to go back to what you have now short of complete reinstallation. There are LOTS of complaints about this on the MS TP forum -- but MS's response to this is that there is a warning clearly shown to this effect BEFORE you install Win10 TP.

What I did was make an image of my Win8.1 install, copied that to a new drive, and then "upgraded" the copy to Win10 TP. This way, I can mess around with Win10 all I want and when done, simply delete it.

You really should go to the Windows 10 Forums with such questions.

Once again, the Windows 10 Forum is where to go regarding this .. but there is lots of speculation about this, and that is all it is -- speculation. No one really knows if MS is going to offer Win10 "upgrades" for free. What is being claimed on the Win 10 MS forum is that you will not be able to "upgrade" from the Win 10 TP version to the Win10 Release version when it comes out.
