Can't Signin to Windows App Store.

It takes me to a screen the says "Switch to a Microsoft account on this PC" It shows my Microsoft account picture and ask for current password. When I enter it I get message password is incorrect.
I don't see option of recovering my password at this point.

When I look in Help for Apps & Windows Store and click on Windows Store and"Why can't I sign in to Windows Store?" and click on" Go to the Reset password website" and then choose "I forgot my password" it ask me to inter my "Microsoft account". Which I do and it sends a security code to my alternate email address.
I get the code to reset password and I enter it where it ask me to. It tells me to create a new password and I do.
Then I get a page telling me my account has been recovered. I click next and it takes me to a Sign in page for my Microsoft Account. which shows my email account and a password. I click sign in to Microsoft account and it does just fine but it still won't let me sign into the Windows App Store.

What am I missing?

Have you rebooted the computer after all that?

Yes I did reboot before I posted. It did not help.

Clear the Windows Store Cache

sfc /scannow

Re-register the Store:

If all else Refresh or reinstall Windows.

I did as suggested and clear cash and tried the re-register and still not working. When I try to log in I get same message saying I am using wrong password.
I do not want to reinstall windows.

Question? I started with Win8 and updated to Win8.1. If I do the Refresh or Reinstall of Win8 won't it remove the update of Win8.1 and take me back to Win8?

If you do a Refresh from within Windows, you will stay on Windows 8.1

If you reinstall Windows via your recovery partition or recovery disks, you will have to update to Windows 8.1 again. No Problem, just a little more time.

Thanks! Will it give me the option of resetting the Admin Password during a Refresh? And without knowing the old password? Since it won't take the one I had written down.

I went to the link and read and I am a bit confused about whether or not I will loose Win8.1 on a refresh. Here is what I read there:" If you have an OEM PC that came with Windows 8 preinstalled and updated to Windows 8.1, then when you refresh Windows, it will restore Windows 8. Afterwards, you will need to update to Windows 8.1 via the Store again."

Can you this clarify for me. Since the Window Store won't take my password even after I have successfully change the password and I can sign into my Microsoft Account(just not at window store) how will I be able to re-update to win8.1 there. Sorry if I am being dense here. I just don't want to do anything until I understand what it will entail. Keep in mind it is telling me my Admin Password is incorrect also even though I had it written down. So if asked for Admin. Password I an out of luck. So I two issues with passwords I need to be able to correct. I bought this laptop with win8 installed and updated to win 8.1 later.

If your refresh does revert to Windows 8 the question of the Windows Store should not be a problem as it a refreshed copy and you will be able to get the Windows 8.1 update. Refresh does not always work because it may ask for the install disk, that you do not have, and you may have to Factory Restore your system.
