Creating a Restore Point via Task Manager.....

    Hello guys,

Am trying to creat a restore point via Task Manager to run every day, but no luck so far.

Included 2 PRTSCRN where you can see what is done so far.

Strange program sometimes starts but i do not find any usable file. Probram not Always starts (Always get a capital letter in Always....)

When starting the program manually it never ends, still no files that i can use.

Any help is appreciated, the program used ithe one Brink offered in the tutorials. Do not know what i do wrong.

    thanks

The problem is, that even when you create a restore point, it will not create anything of value, unless there were any noticeable system changes and if they were, system restore would run automatically anyway. I have just created one and its size is 1,66 MB. It would be probably better to use something else, like:

    well Tairiku,

had to use the Sytem Restore recently and was happy that i did create a restore point.

It is nice tha System Restore runs automatically when NOTICEABLE changes where made, but i needed it because i had problems with my OBJECTDOCK from Stardock system restore had not run automatically.

So i prefere to run it every day, but via Task Manager.

    But thanks

You could create a Restore Point shortcut on the desktop making it easier.

    Yes Nuccii,

that is possible and if there is no solution i will have to do so.

Have 32 already on my Objectdock from Stardock, so one more is possible.

Still it would be nice if this would work automatically

Were you looking at this? System Restore Point : Create at System Startup - Windows 7 Help Forums It should work for 8 also and you want Method Two

Alternatively you can use task scheduler to start a task at log on or whenever (running with highest privileges). The program to run is

    powershell Checkpoint-Computer -Description adhoc

where adhoc is the text description you want to give your snapshot. Note that

Note however that since Windows 8 Checkpoint-Computer cannot create more than one system restore point each day. If you try to create a new restore point before the 24-hour period has elapsed no checkpoint will be made and Windows PowerShell will briefly flash the message: "A new system restore point cannot be created because one has already been created within the past 24 hours. Please try again later."

    Yes Adamf,

i did use the TUTORIAL that was posted by Brink on the board.

Now when i try to do as said here in option2 the program is ready to start, but does not not start. When i leave Task Manager and go back in the program is gone, even if it should run every day.....

So first time i used the program offered on the board, option 4 in another Tutorial, second time just followed the instructions here option 2.

    hello guys,
include a PRTSCRN where you can see that the program did run on sept 4th, time before aug 28th, but do not know what happened, should have run EVERY DAY.

Besides i was awayto the seaside on sept 4th and 5th, just back since yesterday evening.

Meanwhile the program installed as in option 2 said "completed" but as you can see in the PRTSCRN, no proof of this
