    Problem installing Acrobat Reader

    For some reason I wasn't able to update or reinstall Acrobat Reader.

    I changed permissions on it & the installer to give me total control.
    After several attempts I just downloaded another PDF reader & maker free.

    It installed nicely with no error messages.{Nitro Reader}
    & it works good.
    I can make PDFs with it too.
    Unlike Adobe's program which just reads.

    I am just curious if anyone else has had trouble updating or installing Acrobat Reader.

    How have you tried installing Adobe Reader? I am assuming that you tried a stand-alone installer, as well as straight from the Opera Browser?

    I would try using ccleaner and using the registry feature, and just see if there are pieces of Adobe Reader that are corrupted or wrong.

    Adobe installer sometimes messed up. You might need to clean up the registry first & remove it completely:

    I'll try it again now & post results.

    After using the Tools suggested by topguncp.

    Hello David,
    Try:
    1. Delete C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat
    2. Delete C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat
    3. Run the Tool as Admin
