Sopcast on win 8.1

After installing MS patch KB2980654, Sopcast crashes (ver. 3.82).

Uninstall then try to install the latest ver Sopcast (3.9x), it crashes during installation.

Fall back to Sopcast 3.5. It can be installed but crashes when I pressed "log in".

What is this MS KB2980654 ? Ccleaner also crashes after installing this patch.

FYI, this Win is a fresh installation. Only NIS 2014 + FF + Chrome is currently installed.
