NERO 2014 - Expensive and doesn't handle subtitles

    Hi there.

I'd advise people NOT to buy Nero 2014 for their video editing program -- While it has lots of nice features I'm amazed that it does NOT enable you to add Subtitles. It's amazing when Free programs like Handbrake do and a professional so called polished program omits this really basic feature.

I like to translate some subtitles into other languages for people. What about Hard of hearing folks too - I suppose they usually like subtitles as well. I can't understand this simple omission in otherwise a decent product.

Seems a lot of money then to pay for this type of product if all you want to do then is create your DVD with another program and simply burn the ISO -- plenty of freebies that can burn isos properly.!!

I'd recommend therefor you simply ignore buying or upgrading to Nero 2014 and find something else for your Video / Audio editing and DVD authoring.

    Cheers
    jimbo

Ugh, I gave up on Nero years ago not only it was a buggiest set of programs but their own codecs and file format were unbearable. Ad to that constant spying and inability to be uninstalled cleanly resulting in trashed systems afterwards.

I use Nero BurningROM for my audio cd production as its the only CD burning program I've found that will burn to multiple drives at the same time. I have a set of 5 USB connected drives that I use for audio CD production in my recording studio and can burn 5 CD's at a time.

Otherwise I don't use most of the other bloatware in Nero.

I've tried other programs such as Imgburn, CDBurnerXP and the high priced Sony CD Architect and none of these will burn to multiple drives at the same time.

The "Give Away Of the Day" is CDRWin 10. I don't know its capabilities but worth looking into since its the freebie today.

Thanks, used an older version some time ago and was not exactly satisfied, we'll see what this one looks like.

Update. I downloaded CDRWin 10 and it does not have the capability to burn to multiple drives at the same time.

Just downloaded it myself, waiting for licence confirmation.
    Edit
Not impressed with options. It may take some time but will try it first time when needed to burn something (hopefully not the house).

Hi there I used to LIKE NERO -- now it's overbloated and I regularly get DVD errors when running it on Windows 8.1 - fortunately I'm burning DVD RW's rather than the use once variety. The quality of the blanks is fine as is the DVD writer. I tried burning the same data on my Linux system...
Hey guys, should have turned to you a while back.... well, you cant stop arrogance I guess ? Quick rundown, bought the ASUS G75VW almost two years ago, ran a treat. It is basically a downloading and streaming machine. I work away, so when I am home (one week out of three), the laptop stays on...
I tried watching a YouTube video at 1440p and 2160p. Every time I try either of those qualities, flash player crashes. Can my gpu just not handle that high resolution? I've never had any problems with video until I've tried to stream 4k quality. I can do 1080p fine. All my specs are on my...
Hi. I'm mainly using WMC when I'm watching something. I have installed a few codec packs so most of the time it works fine. I've got an episode of Naruto that suddenly didn't show the subtitles, though. (I've watch about 300 episodes of Naruto before this one and they all showed subtitles...
Windows 8 is too expensive. in General Support
I paid £14.99 cos I got the Win7 upgrade deal, they charge £24.99 for download and £49.99 for a disk. Now on past windows prices that looks cheap but pricing it like that says one thing. They know it's a steaming pile of crap that people will cross the street to avoid. But make it cheap enough and...
How does Win8 handle WINSXS in General Support
My biggest complaint about Win7 is how the WINSXS folder is handled. Basically it simply gets bigger and bigger, and there is no way to reduce it's size. Is there any information about how Win8 handles this? Does it do any better? IS there a way to clean up WINSXS in Win8?
