Hi there
I used to LIKE NERO -- now it's overbloated and I regularly get DVD errors when running it on Windows 8.1 - fortunately I'm burning DVD RW's rather than the use once variety. The quality of the blanks is fine as is the DVD writer.
I tried burning the same data on my Linux system using K3B (Free of course) -- same DVD -- not a single error including veryfying after the write.
I'm not sure what the difference is but the Linux system seems to use MKISOFS or GROWISOFS which perhaps is a more reliable engine than what the PAID FOR NERO software uses. I shan't update NERO again.
If you have Linux in a VM give this burning program a try - I don't think you'll be disappointed either -- also can burn .iso's etc. I think it burns quicker too -- I'm getting the full 4.0X for DVD+RW for the discs I'm using.
Cheers
