Connectify Hotspot_'Start Service' Not working

Hello folks,

I am using Connectify Hotspot v8.0.0.30686 on Windows 8.1

Problem is it worked like a charm on Windows 8 but when I upgraded to 8.1 it started showing problems.

When I run the application shortcut it starts the main UI.

After that I have to click one more button 'Start Service' ( I never had to click this button on Windows 8, I thought this was new feature on Windows 8.1)

When I click on 'Start Service' it opens up new window and starts processing for the same.

It is then supposed to show 'Start Hotspot', However it doesn't.

It just keeps on processing for 'Start Service' and I am unable to use the whole software!

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, but it didn't work.

I also tried to generate logs but I am unable to do that as well.

There is one more problem to my Windows 8.1, I am of the opinion that the main problem is with my Windows 8.1; I'd like all of you experts to go to the link http://www.eightforums.com/general-...error-make-sure-you-typed-name-correctly.html

Nitro, Adobe and IDM not working on Windows 8.1

Every time I try to launch a program, it gives me error as shown above in title. This problem started after upgrading to 8.1 from 8.
Following are the programmes for which the problem persists:


  1. Nitro PDF Pro v9.5.1.5
  2. Adobe Reader v11.0.07
  3. Internet Download Manager v6.21 Build 1
  4. Connectify Hotspot Pro v8.0.0.30686
  5. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro v2.0.1.1004


I don't understand what is causing the problem; However, I've found a workaround i.e. to rename a file in C drive e.g. I go to "C:\Program Files\Nitro\Pro 9" and rename the application file. By doing this I can run the software for a while but it doesn't work after a week's time.


Day by day I'm inclining towards rolling back to Windows 7. I'm annexing 2 screenshots for supporting my problem. Please refer to them.


Experts please look into this and help me out of this!

PS.: Just out of curiosity, why would this problem even occur in the first place? Did something went wrong while I was installing Windows 8 or while updating to Windows 8.1 ?
PPS.: In addition to above problem my PC frequently shows Blue Screen with a smiley showing MEMORY_MANAGEMENT ERROR. I checked for 'Windows Update and Recovery'; it didn't help. This might help you diagnose my problem more accurately.
