store app

With the Metro Interface open, just type store and then when the results come up, you should see the app somewhere on the list. Right-click on it (a tick will appear in the top right-hand corner) and then click on Pin to Start. The app should now be back on the Metro Interface, but not necessarily in the same place. It will, in most cases, be present as one of the last tiles (you will need to scroll to locate it). Just simply click on it and drag it to where you want it.

Unless you took special measures, you did not uninstall Store. I didn't look much at all, but it doesn't seem like there is an obvious way to uninstall Store. (Maybe there is and I missed it?) All the other Metro apps can be right clicked on and uninstalled. I find it a little offensive to be honest, that you can't uninstall it.

You probably just removed the tile from the main start page. Right click the main start and then go to all apps and it will be there.

I am sure that i ddin't removed store completely and it's still there. But i can't get it in the start page. I right-clicked and searched in all apps.No sign of store. I tried typing store bbut no app results. Can you tell us what was the exe's name so i can run it from explorer or run dialog.

I'm afraid Metro apps do not run this way. They appear to run within a default container called WWAHost.exe. This means no matter which app you open, it always adds a new WWAHost.exe to the task manager.

You can try different things with this, but I don't think it's likely to help. Maybe though:

"C:\Windows\System32\WWAHost.exe" -ServerName:Windows.Store

hi GMAN,
just a quick question , how can we gate new apps for Metro w8 ?....outside the app store!!

Sorry I can't answer that. I haven't been the world's biggest fan of Metro because of how it wants you to connect to MS servers (a.k.a. "The Cloud") and how it appears that one of its biggest purposes is to make MS more money. Making money isn't bad but in this manner, its questionable. So I am don't have much knowledge in this area yet.

Perhaps you can do the following:
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2778-metro-apps-open-desktop-windows-8-a.html

Open this shortcut and you should see the apps. Perhaps "Store" is in it. Here it is and I can start the "Store" from that location.

I tried this.I can see other apps but not store. Why don't you try uninstalling store from metro and then see if you can get it back.

Open an elevated (Admin) command prompt and copy/paste the following command then press enter:

cd /d C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

If you want to see the contents of it, type this then press enter:

dir

It's the All Users folder. Not your user account folder.
