Windows 8 File History / Alternative

Hello everybody,
I recently found out about the File History feature in Windows 8 and I think it's a great feature, but, in my opinion, its only drawback is that its backup schedule is only time-based. Is there any similar software that can be set to automatically backup files as soon as there's a change in them? I know the time for File History can be as low as 10 minutes, but what if a file is changed multiple times in less than 10 minutes?
A similar feature is available in Google Drive where the backups are made according to file changes and they are not time-based...

Actually I have it installed on my computer and I use it when installing Windows to be able to recover.
I don't if I missed something here, but the only option similar to File History that I found in the application was "Nonstop backup", but after experiencing with it a little bit, it didn't seem to work for me ... Also, if it were to work, I'm not sure if its backup schedule is time-based or when it detects a change in the files (IF it worked)
