I am unable to run install program for realplaver 16. I get the error message "This app can't run on your PC" However the Windows Eight compatible website says that it is! Does anyone have a solution?

Funny, when I look in Compatibility Center, is see Version 14, 10. however Version 16 should work in Win 8. Not knowing the specs of your computer it is possible that there is a hardware or driver requirement preventing it from being installed.

Where did you purchase it from?

I am running Windows 8.1 on a new Dell Inspiron 23 (Model 5348) Windows Compatibility Website shows that RealPlayer is OK However trying to run the installation program I get the message "This app won't run on this computer" I guess that I will have to contact Dell to get a fix.

Yes but I think it might have problems streaming, it should be ok with already dowloaded files though.
There's also an open-source real media player called Helix, which might be worth a check : https://player.helixcommunity.org/
