Microsoft is a software company? Really?

What about iMovie? Free from Apple. And what MS gives is Movie Maker? At its inception, Movie Maker was so bad, anybody who didn't know which company it came from would have easily said that this software developer needs to be in another business. Not developing software. Still to this date, despite any weak improvements, iMovie still eats Movie Maker up for breakfast, and spits it right into the toilet.

And MS is supposed to be the software company? Really? There's no excuse.

If anybody knows a good free Windows alternative to iMovie from a better software developer that isn't the absolute yokels who make Movie Maker, I'm open to suggestions.

Well,with experience in video editing.Movie Maker is certainly not the best for the people who want more features such as Slow-Mo,Rewind,Velocity Change,Chroma,Lens Flare effects etc.But a beginner in video editing can work it out with WMM.About the question for other alternatives , i dont seem any better for free price as you mention.A few good ones can be Adobe Premiere Pro 6,Sony Vegas Pro 12(Great For Motion Tracking),Adobe After Effects Cs 6(For Intros) and Cinema 4D (For 3d graphic designed based projects).But all of them costs some money.Hope i answered your question...
And for the question for Mac you can use final cut pro x for it

No didn't answer my question at all. iMovie is for idiots. Which is exactly what my friend needs for Windows. A good robust idiot proof program similar to iMovie. All those other ones are for more advanced users. I can give her a copy of Premier, but it's not what she's looking for. She wants something fun and brainless to work with. Pretty much, what she wants is iMovie. No something like Premier. Final Cut Pro is a worthless suggestion because again, she needs something close to iMovie.

Tested it out myself right now looks close enough ;).But it is a 7 day trial version.You have to register for the full version :mad:.
