Solved MP3 sound won't download into ppt 2002 presentation

I have Windows 8. I am trying to insert an MP3 sound file into my ppt presentation. It will not insert under "sound from file," nor will it insert under "object."

I don' think that old Office Power pint can import MP3 at all. Does MP3 show at all in File type menu when you try to choose the file ?

Yes it does, but I was able to convert it to a wave file & at the same time renamed it w/o all of the parenthesis, commas, etc. that downloaded with it when I bought it. I'm not sure which fixed the problem, but it downloaded easily after both were done. Thanks so much for responding to my question.

I use this: Download Mp3tag - MajorGeeks to strip all meta data tags from MP3 and eventually create own and that makes MP3 files more compatible.
