UAC Error, EnableUA inRegistry, Cant Run Windows Apps

    Hi! I'm new here.

I would like to share my problem.

Due to some programs I'm using, I had my UAC disabled via registry. Now, I restored my UAC in the registry by changing 0 to 1 in the key of EnableUA. Then to be sure, I changed the UAC to default. Now, I can't use the Metro Apps. I need help please...

Hello Retroswald, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If disabling UAC is the only thing you did, then see if using step 3 in OPTION TWO below and restarting the PC afterwards may help.

User Account Control (UAC) - Change Settings in Windows 8

Will it not mess the other apps in my registry?

It'll only enable and restore your UAC settings back to default, and be fully applied after the restart.

I had just tried it. Again, the apps won't open as they told me that my UAC is off.

Just to make sure, are you signed in to the built-in elevated "Administrator" account, or elevate the rights of your Microsoft account?

If not, then use the Find and Find Next feature in Registry Editor to search for all instances of the EnableLUA DWORD to make sure that each found is set to 1. If you changed any, restart the PC afterwards to apply.

If still not, then you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to hopefully undo and fix it.
