Used CloneDVD2 to HD dont know how 2 use them on WD viewer

I have copied my DVDs using CloneDVD2 to my Hard drive. Any ideas what I do now to view them on TV using WD from my Hard drive. They are in lots of files/chapters instead of one movie format. I assumed once copied I could just drop them into my movie file location to view. Thanks Jenatko

That depends mostly on you TV's software. That question would be more appropriate on some TV forum.

Generally speaking, you can't do that. Some TVs have USB ports but, in most cases, those are for using USB sticks and viewing pictures, not movies.

While it CAN be done if you have a DVR and save movies to the hard drive associated with that DVR, those are encrypted such that (1) you can't watch movies from that hard drive on another TV or on a PC, and (2) if you attempt to add anything to that drive using a PC, that will result in removal of all existing content.

As mentioned above, it depends on the TV, some new models have their built in media player which can play most of the popular format such as: avi, mpeg, flash downloaded from Youtube, mkv, iso, VOB (dvd format) etc... which you can plug your HD to the USB port of the TV. If your TV does not have that capability then your next choice is to buy a Media Play which you can put the HD into its caddy and play or you can also play directly from your PC through the Network Sharing.

My TV does have that capability. However, I want to play all Videos, Music, Pictures slide show and including one ripping from cloneDVD2 directly from my PC so I would not have to plug/unplug the HD.

FYI, I bought this one from Amazon: Amazon.com: New Arrival! KDLINKS HD700 Extreme FULL HD 1080P 3D Media Player with Gigabit Network, Built-In Wifi, 7.1 HD-Audio, Youtube & Full ISO/VOB Support (Realtek 1186 3D): Electronics

    Hope this helps !!!

The TV is not the problem as we currently stream all of our movies from our computer hard drive now using a Western Digital HDMI DTS device that is networked. The problem is the way the movies have been copied from my DVDs. As I said I expected them to be in an avi format or something like that, so I could just drop into my movie file and play. but instead there are many files so the movie is broken up into individual chapters. I'm not sure if it's a setting that I need to use when using clonedvd2 or if I need to do something else to the cloned files on my computer.

    Any ideas?

    thanks for your help

Cloning means just that, you end up with same stuff that was on DVD (minus some restrictions). What you need is a program to convert to AVI if that's all your TV can read and display. "Riping" DVD to AVI will of course lower quality of video and sound. Can't suggest you any program like that because there maybe some legal issues coming with it.

If you open the DVD in file explorer, you'll see 2 folders: AUDIO_TS(Not used, reserved) and empty and VIDEO_TS folder containing:
VIDEO_TS.IFO file(s) where it kept all the info such as chapters, menu etc...
and one or more VTS_01_1.VOB's. VTS_01_2.VOB where 01 is title 1. Each VOB has a mximum size of 1GB so they split into pieces up to 99 titles etc... files where the video and audio in the VOB. If your tv does have the capability to open DVD format then all you need is to open the IFO file then it will play in sequence or you can also play the VOB file directly. If you can produce the DVD ISO file which will produce one single ISO from cloneDVD2 then it will also play.
