Of course you don’t like the truth........ Throw away, not quite sure, for now the Developers will have to charge 30% more to give a tax to Microsoft.
It's pretty standard for OS app store proprietors (Google, Apple) to take a percentage of each app sale, that's actually one of apple's biggest sources of profit possibly today but certainly projected into the future if they continue their current marketing strategy. In fact, it's a common business strategy in internet transactions, and paypal is a prime example of this practice where it gains a percentage of each sale made through its service.

Paypal don't sell stuff. They take care of the money transfert betwen the buyer and the seller, they charge fees like all the CC companies and banks.

How can you compare Paypal to Google Store or Apple store ? , I can make a purchase on Apple Store and pay with my CC, no Paypal involve, they only collect money, and it's normal they charge fees.

I can compare them because both paypal and app stores provide a service, not a product, and they each take a cut of the revenues from their respective service. Both business models operate on behalf of both producers and consumers (developers and users) and serve as a middleman in the transactions.

What I mean to say is, app stores provide a platform for developers to distribute (sell) their apps to users. In a similar way (not identical, I didn't claim it to be), paypal acts as a platform for online vendors to sell their products to consumers. They both provide a service.

EDIT: This is getting a bit off topic, feel free to PM me if you'd like to continue this conversation.

So a a day ago I woke up, turned on my computer, and was surprised at how long it took to turn on. It took, like, 30 minutes to get to the desktop screen (I have Pokki so it goes to metro for a seconds and then automatically goes to the desktop). It took its sweet time trying to load steam and...
One heck of a problem. in General Support
Ok so I'll cut straight to the stuff that matters: When I turn the PC on, I boot to the Windows 8 Login screen and I see a message every cold boot that says something to the effect of "Wrong DVI Cable Connected. Please Connect the cable that came with your monitor" and the stuff on the screen...

OK, so here's the deal. My dad purchased a brand new 17" Dell laptop (17R) with Core i7, 8GB of RAM... and it came with, of course, Windows 8. So, we purchased an extra Windows 7 HP x64 OEM licence for it. So, I decided to check it (Win8) out before formatting it back to Windows 7. (I'm...

Just installed the leaked RTM. No aero glass. Inactive windows are gray. Taskbar is transparent, but there is no blur. I can post screens later, but it's much worse than the RP. If any other people here are interested in helping me fix this, and have some skillz, we should try to work this...
