    Running Java 32-bit and 64-bit

    1. I have installed both Java 32-bit and 64-bit since the browser I use is 32-bit but I have something that I want to use with 4GB+. Do I have to install them in a specific order or does it not matter?

    2. I have tried running this command to verify the java version:
    Code:
    java -d64 -version
And it said it is installed.
Then, I tried running the command below to verify 32-bit Java:
    Code:
    java -d32 -version
    It says the following:
    Code:
Error: This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.
    Please install the desired version.
Is this because 64 bit Java is set as default system Java runtime? I have tried adding Java 32-bit runtime and it won't stay after applying in the Java control panel and pressing ok.
Does the above even work? Somehow Java works on the 32-bit browser even though it can't verify itself. Is there a chance that Java 64-bit works with 32-bit browsers even though the website says it doesn't? Is it just working but the Java control panel doesn't like it?

    I have 32 & 64 bit JAVA on a 64 bit machine.
My browser {Opera} is 32 bit.

There was a recent update to JAVA.

I uninstalled my old JAVA first.

    Then went to:

    Verify Java Version

to test download the new 32 & 64 bit JAVA.

    Then here:

    I got this message:

It doesn't matter which you install first.
After installing them, restart the computer & go to the test page to test Java .

If this doesn't work for you then someone else will have to offer assistance.

Yes I have done that too. For some reason though, since I installed 64-bit last, it may have overridden the control panel for 32-bit which means I can't change settings for 32-bit sadly. Do you know a solution for this?

What do you see in Programs & Settings ?

It seems the control panel controls both versions.
I only have 1 control panel.
    Yet both versions work good.

    Pretty much.

As long as it works I wouldn't worry about it.
