Does anyone know what ATKGFNEX is?

I've been always wondering what this thing is, but can never find an answer. Found a forum on a Lenovo site that classifies atkgfnex as a 'HotKey' driver of some sort (I never use those things,) however, that post was for a Lenovo brand laptop model that was posted in 2008.

Slimware claims it's needed, as being part of the Asus graphics drivers. Everything else is just copy-and-paste for websites that host dubious looking one-click fix-all, so on, and so-forth whatever's. Does anyone know what this thing really is?

If anyone can answer this question, please feel free to post.

Thank you in advance.

On my ASUS laptop its part or the ATK utility. The ATK utility is what makes the special function keys work. Volume up, down, Screen brightness, all those special Fn keys that are across the top of the keyboard. Some of the other utilities like the Smart Gesture utility require the ATK utility to be installed first to for them to work correctly.

Thanks! Couldn't really find anything that told me what atkgfnex was. Glad it's sorted out now.

Again, thank you!

I knew because I've done a few clean installs on my laptop and had to install the ATK utility. Otherwise I would have had to Google it.
