    Media Player lockout work around?

Hi I am a volcano tour guide and bring my computer along to show videos to my clients. It is easier to understand how a lava tube works by seeing a video of one, etc. I was out in the field with clients yesterday and when I went to show the video of lava flowing on to the ground, I got a message to update instead of the video. I could not get the video going and was ashamed. If I had an internet connection at the lava field that would have been great, but since there is no such service, is there a way around this situation should it happen again?

You don't say which media player , I'm assuming Windows Media Player.

Try downloading and using a free alternative media player instead , I would recommend VLC media player, it's free , fast and very reliable.

VideoLAN - VLC: Official site - Free multimedia solutions for all OS!

and it won't force you to update before playing a video if there is no internet connection available.

It was the Windows player. I took your advice, and now I have two players! Genius! I like the VLC player better than the windows one! Thank you for your great response. Problem solved!
