Solved What's Wrong With My Bing Weather App?

I am getting weather information twice for every day of the week. I've uninstalled/reinstalled, changed city, close/killed the app and restarted my PC, but nothing fixes the error. Any solutions out there?

Do you have an identical twin that lives near by? Sorry. I couldn't pass that one up. :p

Is the app listed twice in the Store under "My apps" by any chance? Don't laugh. I've read of more weird things.

I experimented with that and it didn't reproduce the problem. Maybe should look at Task manager and see if something is duplicated there.

That's a good idea, Count. I'm wondering if it's duplicating "My location" and "Home" even though "Location" isn't shown in Places.

No, I do not have a Microsoft account linked or have a Windows phone. I tried to link my account but nothing changed.

Sorry for the delay for it was a holiday.

Did you check Task Manager as CountMike suggested?

Try using this:

Apps and tiles not working tutorial list:
Apps and Tiles Not Working or Responding: Fix in Windows 8

Especially containing these:

App Troubleshooter:
Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter - Fix Apps in Windows 8

DISM to Fix Component Store Corruption:
DISM - Fixing Component Store Corruption in Windows 8

Try running scannow at least three times:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - Run in Windows 8

If dawned on me that I had a duplicate of my location, but this was way back when using 8 in the beginning (now well into 8.1). It eventually corrected itself. I've scoured the Net to no avail. Other than those tutorials above, I don't know what to tell you at this point other than give it a while. Report back again if the problem persists and hasn't solved itself. Others may have a solution, though.

None of the solutions above worked. Later I found out the problem was caused by the location. I've entered the location into another Windows 8.1 system and the same "glitch" occurred.

Thanks for the help, guys. What would be the best way to address this issue to Microsoft?

So it ended up being a location. Weird. Would you mind posting the location so I could try it?

Best way to send feedback would be in the app itself. Charms Bar > Settings > Send Feedback

junior just stated it's a location. What makes you think it's MS's fault? How about one of the affiliates of the app?

Weather About Snip.PNG

How about an IT Pro that services the weather station or one in between that made a mistake? There could be all sorts of possibilities.

The app works fine. Geez....

It's not weathermen that made this App run double, it's in the windows, so it's M$, so they should deal with it.

What kind of reasoning is that? If that were true, then all locations would show double. Yes, ultimately MS will deal with it for they are ultimately responsible for the app and affiliates' feeds. How do you know it's not an affiliate or some tech somehow? It's like stating that it's MS's fault because a 3rd party program doesn't run on Windows.

Seems like you're quick to judge without knowing all the facts. Let's wait until all the jurors are in.

You want reasoning, here's one. You go to store, buy bread, bread is no good, do you go after the farmer that grew wheat or company that made fertilizer ?

No, I would take it back to the store which is basically what junior wants to do. It looks as though it's not that he doesn't like the product overall. It's one "loaf" he's complaining about.

If the problem persists then either buy different bread or go to a different store, which sounds like a good solution for some.

Microsoft did develop the app, so I do think they should take a look at what's causing the problem.

I'm not mad at Microsoft, I like the Weather app provided by them. I will see if they can take a look, if not, it'll be fine with me.
