    [Request]Software for CPU overheat alert

    Dear All,

Please suggest me a software for my Win 8 64 bit which can monitor my CPU temp such that when temp goes beyond a specified value say 70 degree celsius, the program will pop up a warning, some sound also.

I tried the latest version of core temp, but whenever temp exceeded my specified settings, the prog stops working. Any other software?

    Thanks,
    Troy.

I haven't used it in a few years, but I believe Speedfan will alarm at high temps.

Have you checked your BIOS? , a lot of them now let you put up an alert when one of several temperatures go beyond a set value.

I use a small free program called Core Temp, current version is 1.0 RC6. Windows 8.1, HP ENVY desktop.

If you are using standard, original CPU cooler small wander it overheats, they are just too small. Get an aftermarket cooler if you run computer at full potential for long time, you'll blow something up like this. Temperature for that processor should not exceed 62c and more than 55c is not desirable. Check for and clean dust from computer first, you would not believe how much dust and how fast it can collect.

If you can fit in the case I would suggest CM 612s Evo for the CPU cooler, managed 5 GHZ on one and 4.8 GHZ on another computer wth it. CM 412Evo will do just fine but not for any large OC, up to 4.4 - 4.5 GHz. CM 212 Evo with maybe 2 push-pull ventilators should do fine for stock speed.

Well, after several attempts at trying to run this game (Red Alert 2 Yuri's Revenge) on Windows 8 I have given up on the idea of 'upgrading' to Windows 8. I am sticking with Windows 7. The best I have done with this game is to install it, actually get into the game and start a skirmish. But of...
