How to fix this Windows 8.1 Start screen problem?

Every time i switch to the Start Screen, my desktop icons shows up too. Is there a way to fix this?

I've try changing my theme/background then after a while, the icons will just show up again.

maybe u cud've installed a 3rd part theme app to modify ur start menu or a faulty aero theme? try reset them!

Do you mean the icons on the Start screen's background image, or pinned icons on the Start screen?

If background, do you have a custom theme or Start Menu type program installed?

If pinned icons, are you able to right click on them, and click on "Unpin from Start" to remove them?

The background. I didn't install any 3rd party themes. Well, after i change my Windows Desktop background and go to the Start Screen, its normal (I don't see the icons) but after a while, the desktop icon shows. It's not that big deal but i find it messing with my start screen.
