    window app narrator

Can anyone give me some tips on using narrator with Windows 8 ? It talks, but i can't get it to read what i want read! Very frustrating. I start it up it says some things on the page it's on (somewhere, but i don't know where) and then clams up, not another word. It reads it's own instructions really well, but that's about it.

Thanks for your reply, and mine definitely does NOT tell me about my spelling i am typing inside a blue box right now, and NOT a peep from narrator. So now it will say my key strokes, all i want to do is get it to read the screen!

Thank you for your reply! I will figure this out, I usually do after working with it for a while. It is supposed to be an ease of access feature for the blind. My eyesight isn't great, so I thought I would give it a try.
