8.1 camera app: no resolution setting?

I have a Samsung 500t and after clean install 8.1 i notice the camera app does not hv any resolution setting so now my 8 mpixel front cam is limited to 2mpixel. wtf?? how can ms f up even such a basic thing? I mean if this is the way Ms is going about doing bizniz its no wonder they are losing to android. this setting was present in 8.0. iwas hoping for better camera app like the ability to turn flash on off on demand but of course instead of improving its regression...

anyone got a quick fix for this? is this how Ms is making us buying a camera app? theres not even any good cam app anyway in Ms store.....

instead of bashing Microsoft why not just focus on your issue .
after the clean install did you go to Samsung support for win8.1 drivers for the computer/camera ,if not try that is is likely the issue..

I just read a review on you device and its says you back facing camera is 8 meg and the front is 2meg
Review: Samsung ATIV Smart PC 500T - Pocketables
    below from the review
Most tablets have poor or barely passable cameras, but the 8MP back-facing camera on the ATIV is surprisingly good for a tablet. Photos taken in decent lighting – particularly those shot outside during the day – are of a high enough quality that I could see myself using the camera in a pinch. Although I generally don’t like being that guy who holds up a tablet to take a picture. Inside, however, the pictures weren’t quite as nice. The 2MP front-facing camera works well enough for video chats and quick profile photos too.

You still don't get my point...... I am trying to say that I think MS is the one that did away with the resolution setting in the cam app, not the individual OEM and has nothing to do w drivers.... I am trying to say that be it an HP or dell or Asus tablet or Samsung in my case, once upgrade to 8.1 you can't change the resolution of yr cam anymore... I need people w other tablets to confirm this...

There is no name. It's the standard camera app that comes with win8 and 8.1
