Solved Problem with closing apps since update 1 yesterday
Hello I'm new here so if my question has been asked and/or answered I apologize.Since yesterday's 8.1 update 1 apps will no longer close on my non touch laptop by dragging them to the bottom of the screen and flipping them.I have noticed that when I go to the top of the screen to grab my cursor no longer becomes a hand but I can still drag the app to the bottom to flip it but then in immediately goes back to full screen and continues to run.Has this method of closing apps been removed for non touch devices in yesterday's update?

The drag and flip still works for me. The hand is gone so I just drag the title bar down.

If you are referring to the X at the top right that will only suspend the app not close it.

Yeah but the issue is some apps still appear to be running in task manager after using the X to close, while the drag and close method actually closes the app in task manager. Pretty much what bdubs said.
A bit weird

What is really weird is if the app I want to close is in the app switcher column on the left I can drag and flip it and it will close. However no matter what I try in full screen it will not.
Just tested on several different apps...
Close via icon on left of black bar... Suspends
Close by red 'X'... Suspends.
Drag but not flip... Suspends.
Drag and flip... Closes.
Alt + F4... Closes.
Hope this helps clear up any confusion.
Wenda.

I've isolated the problem to having the click lock enabled on the trackpad.Would anyone have any ideas why update 1 one would have changed this function?
No idea why, but not surprised. Some of my settings (not those ones) were changed as well.
Nothing serious, just lost my location in the weather app and similar small niggles

Thanks Wenda, I've also noticed that closing via the App icon on Task Bar also only Suspends. So it's drag & flip or Alt+F4 as you suggest
Thank you.
