Solved Slow program launch from start menu

I just did a fresh install of 8.1 pro on my computer with an SSD. When i click the start button and use the apps window(not metro) to launch desktop programs they load extremely slow. The start menu doesn't even close on its own when i click to launch a program either i have to manually close it then a few seconds later the program will launch. When i open the program from explorer it loads instantly but for whatever reason doing anything through the new start menu is extremely slow, i really hope someone has some suggestions i wanted to give 8.1 a fair chance this time around and its already causing problems.

Did you put the desktop program tile by using "Pin to Start..." ?

If so I would unpin it, then pin it again.. just to see what happens.

Thanks for the quick response after quite a while screwing with it i just found out what the problem was. Ultramon was causing it, so if anyone else has this problem get rid of ultramon
