Hi

With the imminent arrival of windows 8.1.1 update (April 7 2014) a question has crossed my mind, I have used classic shell so as to help me over the no start menu, my simple question is should I uninstall this now in ANTICIPATION of a new start menu from Microsoft or is this wishful thinking lol. :p

Cheers for any help

Nope. Keep it installed. It will give you more tweaking over the desktop, then Windows right now is incorporating. Sometime by next year. They are supposed to start allowing metro tiles in the Start button interface. Classic Shell & Start8, should allow you to disable that in their next updates.

That was mentioned when the information came out on Update 1, over a month ago. Even when the new start button comes out. You will still see a lot of users using Classic Shell or Start8.
