I have paid for the download and have a licence key. I wanted to purchase a backup disk when I purchased the dowload. but was advised I had to make my own back-up disk. The download is running and if I download it from the site again I get this message: Uninstall Required - An existing version of this application must be uninstalled prior to reinstalling. Would you like to uninstall the existing version now. Ok or cancel.

I do not want to uninstall the existing version I just want to make a back-up copy. The personal download link is only available for 30 days - and if I want\need to re-install the software after 30 days I need to have a back-up copy. .
Turn the utility off in Task Manager, download the .exe, save it somewhere for future use, enable the program again.

Why do you go thru all this trouble. You can download SAS any time anew. And btw, you can get a portable SAS from here:

As I have said already I have downloaded the spyware and if I download again I get this message:

I do not want to uninstall the existing version I have just renewed my subscription for 2014 - I just want to make a back-up copy.

If you have your serial number uninstalling it doesn't matter.

It sounds like you are choosing "Run" instead of "Save to computer".

You need to save it to the computer.

The problem here, is communication. Every time you post something you say or add something new.

Would only show up if you are trying to install the software again.

    This is your option:

If all you want to do is make a disk with the software you need to install this when its not already on your PC. Follow this.

    Go to this page
Right click on the link that says "Click Here" and choose save link as. It may be that it detects you have the software and tries an upgrade.

Right Clicking and saving as will prevent this. See image

Save the file to a destination you know.

    Burn file to disk.

I have made a backup dvd copy and put a copy on SkyDrive as I understand that SkyDrive is more reliable - is this just hearsay?
