I was enjoying playing solitaire, using my camera and video. Now I can't open these and many others from my desktop. What can I do to get these to open and use again.

Hi Henrytobias,

Welcome to the Forum :)

I am not sure your exact error, if this is a problem with your "desktop" shortcuts have you tried deleting and recreating?

Also for solitaire :

If you are using a Catalyst driver for my ATI graphic card.I turned off "morphological filtering" in 3d gaming application settings.

If this is actually on the Start screen you can try going through the solutions below:

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/21051-apps-tiles-not-working-responding-fix-windows-8-a.html

If none of this helps please can you post more information and preferably a screenshot :)

All the best for now!

Cheers,
Harry

I can do that. How do I do that with the assurance that you are not a hacker? I don't have anything on my computer of any significance, but one hears so many horror stories about identity theft etc.

Do you have an administrator account on your computer?

I don't know how to do that. I need to ask a friend who is more knowledgeable than myself. I'll get back to you. I don't know when that will be.I don't even think I have a disk or whatever as it was already installed on my computer when I bought it.
