Facebook account and People issue

Whenever I add 'my' Facebook account to People app, W8 assumes that my account is the same as my login name Live ID, but it's not. How can I change the Facebook account setting?

Go to profile.live.com and connect your Facebook account with your Windows Live account.

Hmmm, looks like it already is, because when I go to profile.live.com, I can see Facebook posts and there is no FB on the 'Connect Your Services' box.

I also connected to live and every time I connect people or messaging to Facebook it tells me that connection is successful
but then nothing happens and facebook icon doesn't show in connected accounts

Exactly the same for me.

Actually, I've just rechecked, and it does show I am connected to FB, and also is showing stuff in 'What's New' and 'Me'. However, the Metro tile still shows nothing!

well.. mine is still not fixed.. i reinstalled windows 8.. and still can't connect.. nothing is shown in people.. and chat doesn't show facebook, and the only icons shown in the bottom are live and gmail

Guys registered onto this site to try to help as I promised myself I would if I got it fixed for myself!

I just fixed it after literally trying everything! Even had this issue on 2 separate PCs, which led me down the path that my profile (Microsoft account) was the problem with it replicating across PCs via Sync Settings being enabled.*

Anyway turned out to be relatively simple to fix. Simply uninstall the 4 tied apps (Mail, Contacts, Calendar and People) and reinstall. After reinstall, looked like a slightly updated version was put on via the Windows Store. Straight away I could see all connected services where displayed and after a 3 min sync was completed, everything seems to be working fine.

To uninstall these apps, right click on any one of them and on the bottom app bar choose uninstall. It will prompt to uninstall the 4 at the same time.

As I say this worked for me, so I'm happy. Hope this helps someone else!

I am unable to connect any account to people app as there are no options coming like facebook twitter etc... just white scree appears having add new accounts written over it... same is happening while connectin microsoft account to mail.Please tell me what to do

I deleted the mail and the other apps included but I can't figure out how to reinstall them now.

so you went to the settings in the charm bar after you launched the People app and then added your Facebook account? that's the procedure. the settings in the charm bar is contextual. meaning it changes depending on what app is showing on the screen. so if you're in the sports app, the settings are for the sports app. or if you're in the email app, the settings are for the email.
