HERE Maps now available for non-Nokia devices

Apologies if this is old news, but I've just noticed that HERE Maps is now available from the Windows store for my Dell Venue 8 Pro, whereas previously I believe you needed a Nokia tablet (maybe Surface too?) to download it. I presume this is related to the news last month that said HERE was coming to 8.1 devices, but I for one didn't realise this meant ALL 8.1 devices! This is pretty important as HERE (a merger between Nokia Maps and Navteq I believe) is so much better than the default Maps app, allows offline maps, and is better suited for less powerful devices unlike the Bing Maps preview.

I can't post to the news board yet, so if this is indeed 'news' (and not just new to me) perhaps someone else can post this there.

I don't believe HERE supports turn-by-turn navigation (at least not the version in the Windows Store) . I haven't seen ANY Metro apps that do. Directions seems to be the limit of it's capabilities.

I use MS Streets & Trips with a Bluetooth GPS receiver on my Win 8.1 tablet for turn-by-turn guidance.

You need Here Drive+ which is in the apps store at least for the W8Phones. Streets and Trips is pretty good too. For Europe it's Autoroute.
