How do you make Office 2010 work?

I tried to install the trial, but it didn't seem to work. Either it didn't allow me, or it installed a little bit and stopped. Anyone else who has trouble installing office on WIndows 8? I went back to Windows 7, but I am thinking about going back again, since there's something wrong with this WIndows 7. I just need office to work at least. :S

Which edition are you using? I installed Office 2010 professional Plus x86 and it just works, no compatibility issues so far.

I beta tested Office 2010, and the 8dp was on our test cycle. What error are you getting during the install?
I'll then see if I can recreate it, and get you a work around to get it installed properly onto 8cp. Also was the
license cleared to do the re-install onto 8cp? If this is your issue, you need to contact Microsoft Office support
so they can clear that license to be usable on 8cp.

Office 2010 Pro x32 installed fine on x64 system from disc. However will not update installation to SP1. Windows update and Installer both say they cannot find office in system. Only issues noticed so far is that Outlook would not let me load multiple email addresses. Any ideas on how to turn something on or on and off for Win 8 to recognize office.

Might be a ploy to encourage people to get the newest version of Office.

Might be a ploy to encourage people to get the newest version of Office.

... Except that ... Office 2010 IS the newest version you can purchase. So it would make sense that Office 2010 SHOULD work completely in Win8.

If the Win8 Developers are testing only with Office 15, that's going to be REALLY BAD news if MS then requires an expensive (what else?) upgrade in order to get MS Office working in Win8.

Not sure, I guess, I remember some users have had issues with the trial.

And also Office 2010 starter won't run (because of their virtualization technic MS is using). Maybe that was an issue.

I have 2010 Home and student it installed fine but does not always give me the three paste options when going from one doc to another or copy links to excel properly. Works sometimes and not others, any ideas?
