Applying a repeating whole page picture/letter background?

Windows Office 2007 - There is no better - however the migration to Win 8 ruined all my default settings!
Anyhoo, I have already sussed out that one may apply headers and footers to repeating pages, but I'm very confused as to how one may apply ones business design - which is a WHOLE page, over which I type my gumpf...
So far, I just insert a text box onto the page, but this only works for one page at a time. The answer should lie in converting it all to a JPG, but I can't find assistance or clues anywhere. Lost, I am.

    Hey,

This is how i would do it:

Click Page layout ribbon > click Page colour > click Fill effects > click the Picture tab > Browse for the image and confirm your selection.

    Hope that helps,

    Cheers,
    Harry

Is this after saving the full page as a JPG? I shall endeavour to follow your instructions and report back. Thank you...

Is this for a business header and footer ?

    if so more information here:

Insert headers and footers - Word - Office.com

Depends what you are trying to achieve, if you just want a formal looking document with title at the top and logo and what not headers and footers would be a good place to start. You insert images in a header and footer and specify that it goes to each page.

Then if you are happy with this design you can save it as a template by going File > save > drop the file format down to Word Template.

If this is not correct please specify or screenshot what you are trying to do and I can assist more

    Cheers,
    Harry

Yer 'tis. Like I said, it is a whole-page. I'm still writing my reports/letters, so I haven't got around to trying any of the suggestions yet. This afternoon hopefully...

    Hey,
How did you get on ?

You can set the background as an image, change this as a the page colour said before, the other bits will work nicely as headers and footers and will also give you the ability to change it if you need rather than having everything as a JPEG.

Also I notice you come from Iwerne-Minster.. I spent most of my life living in Shaftesbury! although I am now up in london but you are in a lovely part of the UK

    Cheers,
    Harry

@Harrylowt - Yes, that worked properly. The only problem being that the picture needs reducing to fit. Oddly, the picture that was made to fit the page is now too big...?
