Permit users to use installed programs

Because of a system defect I had to reset windows 8.1 to factory condition.

After I re-install as admin user the Programs wiped off by System Reset
some of them I cannot access from non-admin users, examples Skype, Dropbox.

In the case of Skype I had to install the program three times, once for each of my three users.

Other programs do indeed ask before installation whether all users or only the current one should
    be permitted to use them.

Re-installation for all users is probably not the appropriate way to giver permission,
    but what is?

    Hey mate,

Something went wrong with the reset. If you do not mind completely reinstalling windows, this is the tutorial for you: Clean Install - Windows 8

If, however, you really don't want the trouble of doing that, then follow these steps:
    1. SFC /SCANNOW Command - Run in Windows 8
    2. I would think that the admin account is corrupted. In that event, you may need to create a new one, transfer everything over, and then delete the old one. Here is how: Fix a corrupted user profile - Microsoft Windows Help

Let me know your thoughts on this. Something is definitely not functioning properly.

Are only Skype and dropbox giving not the option to give the permission to one or all users.
Then the problem may be more these 2 programs then a faillure in your system.

Does anyone know that you as default must install Skype seperately on every standard user account?

I tested many of my programs and have not found any that did not work from either standard or admin user. After my triple installations that goes for Skype and Dropbox, too.

I suspect that the need for multiple installations for Skype arises because Skype is an App included in the Windows installation
package but it requires a Microsoft account to operate. I do not have one.

    No idea about Dropbox.

I will declare this thread solved, now.
    Many thanks to the contributors.

    Hey mate,

I had believed you meant the program, but if you are speaking about the app, then yes, all apps must be installed per user, and they do in fact require a Microsoft account. You do not have to be using a Microsoft account in place of a user account (as in this tutorial: Microsoft Account - Switch to in Windows 8), but you will need to enter your MS account credentials when installing/using an app if you do not use a Microsoft Account login.

Some programs require individual installations, and dropbox may be one of them. If you do not have this problem with other programs, then the 'problem' lies with the way dropbox was created. In truth, it may have been purposely created that way.

Thanks for the explanation. I do not need any apps from the Microsoft store. Therefore, I believe, that I can live
    without a Microsoft account.

My other PCs are all Linux and I communicate between the machines via Dropbox.

Yep! You do not truly need to have a MS account, and everything else on your machine will work perfectly well

    Cheers mate!
