increasing font size on start menu tiles

I can't seem to find where you can increase the size of the fonts used within the tiles on the start menu in 8.1. Is it possible to do, and if so, where would I do it at?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I can't be sure because I can't get to the computer I'm trying to change the font size on... but I really didn't want to make the tile itself bigger... just the font within the tile.

I did find some post that had some registry change you could make, but then someone else mentioned that could not be done in win 8.1.

That seems strange just changing the font size wouldn't be an option.

Hey Harrylowt.... It looked promising until I looked at the last warning box at the top of the link you included. I just upgraded to 8.1 yesterday. But thanks anyway.

Warning This doesn't work in Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1. There is no known way yet to disable the automatic detection of Monitor Size.

I run all my systems including 8.1 in 150% DPI. Never had a problem. Just type DPI into the start screen and go from there.

Yea, I had the same result as Edwin... everything else seemed to change, but nothing changed on the start screen tile fonts. I did try a restart after making the change, just to make sure.

Hi, Edwin. The warning box states it's for Desktop only.

Hi, Harleynut.

Not sure if you were looking for the same option, but, when Windows 8 was first released, I wanted the Start menu Icons at their smallest size. Problem was that there was no text at that size. I have tried everything. My computer(s) are not of the very latest or best, but I even designed my own icons with the help of a couple of small and free programs on the web. No joy! In my case, The txt was so poor it was unreadable.

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.

I would think you would know the system better, whs. How would typing DPS into Charms search result in anything usable to help?

A tutorial is always nice to have but really not required for a 2 click operation, LOL.

Tutorials are an absolutely required and often a necessary tool for helping others no matter how many steps there are. I feel Brink’s tutorials are the foundation of this forum to do so.

LOL! His DPI tute had 59,920 views. I noticed the other day your YouTube tutes had 40. I suggest you update those tutes from 8 Preview. I think that'll help to get more exposure. :)
