I am not sure what is goings on. But after installing the Consumer Preview there is no option to view Outlook mail anymore.

So one question at a time...

1.Is there a way for me to recover my emaisl from Vista's "Windows Mail"?

2. I am trying to install Turbo Tax again (lost that too) but now it is saying that it cannot find Framework 3.5. =/

Just Google .net framework 3.5 , download and run it. do the same with 4.0.

MS outlook uses a .pst file to hold all of your mail stuff. You still need to set up your account with your internet provider again. Google on how to load in your old .pst . BTW, you should have backed up your Outlook files way before loading in a new operating system.

I did that. DL'd the Framework 3.5 archive, installed it and ended up with the same error as when Windows 8 tried to use Windows Update to turn on Framework 3.5 in Control Panel/Programs.

I was able to recover the emails however by installing MS Outlook from Office instead of Windows Mail from Vista.

Still totally fubar though when it comes to reinstalling programs that req. Framework 3.5 for whatever reason.

I have native utility from ASUS laptop that need net framework 3.5. Then have it installed. But, later I should uncheck it on the windows features as it caused firefox 10.0.2 crashing immediately. Now Firefox run smoothly. :)

Go to control panel and find the "turn windows features on or off" under programs. See if . NET Framework 3.5 is there but just not enabled..
