skype not showing up in control panel

have Skype on windows surface, however sometimes when I answer the camera doesn't turn on but I can hear voice. I believe it might be might be that I have two different versions on this computer because I can answer one pop-up but still see it ringing. restart tablet and call the person from my windows app and it is fine.
here's the catch---why when I go to my control panel can I not find the program? it shows up on my app screen but clicking all relevant selections on the control panel-it is no where? my past experience says maybe I have two versions on the computer or I need to install and reinstall the program with the latest, but unless I go looking for the actual folder it is non-existant.

I would recommend going to your control panel and uninstalling it completely, only to reinstall the newest version just after. That may very well solve all issues, but let me know if it doesn't

Sorry, it may be an app, yes? Uninstall the app and see if you can reinstall it through the windows store.

I dont think that will work. imagine this: gf calls and message to answer appears in top right corner as a pop up. if i dont answer that but open the app and hit video in bottom left it answers fine. video comes up butter top right is still ringing for about 10 seconds later. so almost like two versions but i can only find the app. nothing in control panel.

A reinstall can't hurt, can it? Plus, it would ensure you have the most recent version. I do not think this is a problem with your computer, but more so a bug in the actual app.
