Delete content in the /windowsapps/deleted folder

How do you delete the content of the C:/program files/windowsapps/deleted folder?

You do have to 'Take Ownership' of the folder, I know that but I've never seen anything in mine so, beyond that, I'm not sure.

Just trying to free up some space.. I assume this is like a windows apps recycling bin, but I can't figure out how to empty it...

Hi 3DPiper:
Is there items in 'that' folder on your machine?

Mornin' ectech:
I think he was talkin about this folder; I've never seen anything in mine no matter what I try to delete, uninstall, etc.

I agree, I've never seen anything in that folder either. You can however delete any folders from apps in the windowsapps folder to free up more space.

But you should follow ectech earlier link and use DISM to remove apps - something like this

dism /image:%mount% /Remove-ProvisionedAppxPackage /PackageName:Microsoft.BingFinance_1.2.0.135_x86__8wekyb3d8bbwe

Absolutely! I've 'Taken Ownership' of App Folders in the past and simply deleted them then immediately experienced problems in the Store and other areas.
I think Microsoft's App Provision/Backup system, etc. is a bit more complex than, say, the Android/Google system! :)

There is about 2G of stuff in that folder, all apps that were already 'uninstalled'..

Not sure why there is ANYTHING in the 'deleted' folder.. Why is there even a 'deleted' folder? If stuff lands there, apparently it is not deleted at all..

Wow! That's strange! My whole Apps folder is only ½ a GB large.
I uninstalled some apps - NOTHING!
