D3DRM.dll is not loaded Problem

When I try to run FMS (FMS Homepage), a free radio control flight simulator, I am getting the message ‘D3DRM.dll is not loaded.' I understand that D3DRM.dll is part of DirectX. dxdiag results show I have dx11. I can't imagine it is missing this DLL. Pages in Microsoft Win 8 support say that there is no need to manually update Directx if the system updates automatically. Mine does, yet I have this problem.

I can’t imagine I must load just the D3DRM.dll file individually. What is the solution?

Hi,

I just went to that FMS forum website and searched for d3drm.dll and it yielded lots of issues. Apparently, this is an older program that has not been updated for a while (upon a quick review). Now, if you follow the results, there are some that say an older version of that dll is required to run on newer computers. With that said, I would go to their forum and search for the dll in question and you'll find lots of suggestions.

I installed this and got the same issue as you - missing dll on 8.1. The last update was 2004 which is rather a long time ago.

You could I suppose download the .dll from somewhere but I didn't want to do this - I'm too cautious.

There is two way how to fix this problem, first it's re install your DirectX and the second it's download missed .dll library fie from D3drm.dll is missing? Download it for Windows 7, 8, 10, Xp, Vista, 32 or 64 bit - Fix4Dll.com and add it into the right directory. Try some and I'm sure you'll fix it. Good luck.
