Disable auto-pinning of new applications on Metro UI

Hi,

every time I install a new x86-application, it automatically creates a new tile on my metro screen. This can be sometimes annoying because many applications add multiple tiles (one for every start menu entry) and I have to remove them manually.

Has anyone discovered a way to disable this functionality? The new application should still appear in my "all applications" list, but shouldn't be auto-pinned to my metro start screen.

Thank you.

Felix

Agree. Especially annoying with applications that install tons of other crap like uninstallers or different modes.

Heh, you should SEE my Metro screen. I have over 110 new boxes on it that are mostly filled with crap left over from installing my most used programs. Tune Up Utilities 2011 added 25 boxes all by itself! I haven't even started on games yet. What a mess!

just select all the tiles you don't want by RIGHT-CLICKING on each of them and select UNPIN FROM START. its the easiest way...

It's kind of stupid that after you install application, you have to remove all icons too. I liked metro a lot when I first seen it but now I keep seeing problems and troubles.

No work around on it yet. Metro just grabs any new shortcuts from start menu program and spread it there.
I just manually drag the most useful tiles to the left screen side. :(

I STARTED deleting the 120 extra icons (one by one by one by..) but why bother? I am hoping to bypass Metro and just go to the desktop...

Uhh, oh. Why t'hell didn't you tell me about right clicking BEFORE I made an ass of myself on this forum? Heh. I just deleted them all in just a few minutes. Thanks. BTW, I saw the check mark on the app box but did not know what it meant.
