Want to delete an entry in People app

Newbie to Windows 8.1!!! Set up all email addresses in Internet Explorer in mail.google.com > Contacts. Wanted people in People app to be listed alphabetically so found I had to place the last name in the first name Google 'block' and the first name in the last name 'block' on mail.google.com That's OK. All contacts in the People app had their Skype info included. However, I added a Skype contact (for which I already had entered an email address) after I did the above but it didn't show up in the People app until the next day. The problem was that now, this contact had two entries in the People app (one had only the email address and the other had the email address and the Skype info. The entry with the Skype info is titled by the Proper Name. The entry with an email address only was also listed in the People app - last name first. But now, I had two entries with the same name. Being a newbie, I tried to correct this by trying to delete the Name with only the email address (in the people app, it is now listed by its' email address, not its' Proper Name due to my attemp to correct the duplication. Couldn't do it - don't know why. So I went back into Google contacts and tried to change the 'duplication.' Ended up with a duplicate again - except that the duplicate (which I want to delete) is listed in the People app by its' email address - not its' Proper Name' like all the other contacts. Also, this entry does not have the Skype info associated with it. Please help me delete this entry. Thank you..........

You can only delete your Hotmail or Outlook contacts from the People app. If you've connected other accounts like Google, Facebook, or Skype, then you'll need to go to that app or website to delete those contacts.

Want to change a name in the People app.

Thanks for the reply. I read the tutorial you sent me. However, I can't figure out how to do what I want. Here are some more details:

The 'name in question' which I entered in Google contacts is "Last Name First Name" and has Hotmail and Skype as Accounts under the blank photo I have a Hotmail account that I haven't used in many years). I want to keep this listing in the People app but I also want it to be linked to Google since mail.google.com (or mail.gmail.com) is the only email client I plan to use. That way, when I attempt to email that person, his name and email address will show up as I start to type his name.

The second entry in the People app is listed as "username@msn.com" and is linked to Google (again, that's the account listed under the blank photo). It is NOT linked to Skype. This is the entry I want to delete (but, again, I want Google to show up as a linked account under the first entry in the People app (first paragraph).

I don't use Hotmail as an email client - but I do use Gmail as my email client and want Skype linked to (Last Name First Name as in paragraph one).

PS: I am writing very specifically to make myself clear. I don't want to leave any information out that you might need to help me - and I DO need help!!!

Now, can you tell me how to fix my issue with the above information in your hands? Thank you..........
