    Recommendations for a Video Joiner

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a good free video joiner program without any toolbar addons/spyware?

Currently, I am using MediaCope but it is slow and sometimes it has problems joining together certain movies.

What video formats? For some formats Avidemux - Main Page is fast and free. Plus I believe it's open source.

A quick solution if you can play mkv is mkvmerge which is included in the official MKVToolnix mkvtoolnix -- Matroska tools for Linux/Unix and Windows. By using the append button in mmg, you can add any stream to a mkv file. In my experience it supports all video input formats, but they have to be the same to work (so for example you can append a mp3 audio stream to another mp3 but not to aac).

You can't find faster, it doesn't re-encode anything, just add streams to a mkv container. The remuxing usually takes between 0 (yup 0) and 1 sec on my PC.

Can it do WMV? I mostly use WMVs.

AsfTools - utility to repair, join, cut, convert, split ASF and WMV files

It works on asf/wmv. I haven't tested it on windows 8, but it worked perfectly in XP.

Does it join videos quickly and maintain quality?

Yes, it maintains the same quality (no reencode), and is fast.

I found a nice video joiner here, but sadly it is not free.
